I'm a
research scientist in Computing Science Lab of the Palo Alto Research Center
(PARC). My specialties are ethnography and interaction design. I conduct
fieldwork and design prototypes for technologies designed to be used in two
contexts: in the home and on the street. Prior to joining PARC in 2004, I spent
3 years as a research scientist at Ricoh Innovations in Menlo Park, California
researching image communication in the workplace. I did my Ph.D at the
University of California, Berkeley exploring how architects share images as
part of their design process and designing hardware and software tools to
support their image sharing practices. A designer by training, I'm particularly
interested in supporting the exploratory nature of creative decision making.
