Research
Much of my research has been in the area of computational geometry;
lately I am working on image processing and
computer vision for biotechnology.
The geometry work includes
surface reconstruction,
mesh generation,
pushing disks together,
and
regression depth.
An image processing problem is
cryo-EM particle picking.
Here is a more organized list of
publications.
The best Web pages on computational geometry
include Jeff Erickson's
Computational
Geometry Pages,
David Eppstein's
Geometry in Action
and
Geometry Junkyard,
and Nina Amenta's
Directory
of Computational Geometry Software.
Art Shows
Some years ago I appointed myself curator of the hallowed halls of PARC.
Every now and then we host an art show, usually exhibiting art that
lies outside the mainstream of galleries and museums.
Past shows have included Employee Art,
Copy Art,
Algorithmic Art, and
Origami.
The art shows have been a sort of accompaniment to
PAIR,
the PARC Artist In Residence program.
