The group was founded by Gary Kopec around the Document Image Decoding (DID) project, which was also the initial name for the group. In the last five years, these people have worked within the SPIA area for periods of at least six months:
  • Dan Bloomberg (retired)
  • Phil Chou (now with Microsoft Research)
  • Jia Li (now Asst Professor, Statistics Dept, Penn State Univ.)
  • Les Niles (now a self-employed consultant)
  • Kris Popat (now in the HDI area at PARC)
  • Taku Tokuyasu (now at the UCSF Comprehensive Cancer Center)
