But to feel the meaning in Beethoven's music, we listen. Although Beethoven's musical gifts were extraordinary, his personal struggles reflect the universal human condition, accessible to all of us. Through photographs and excerpts from Beethoven's writings and music this presentation will trace the growth of Beethoven's genius as he gained insight into humanity through the trials of his own personal life.
Dr. Frederick Kurth is a noted psychiatrist and psychoanalyst residing in Los Angeles. He has been studying the life and mind of Ludwig van Beethoven for fifteen years. Dr. Kurth is principal author of the critically acclaimed play, "The Beethovens."
