Research

My research interests are in the broad, interdisciplinary areas of distributed sensor data analysis, diagnostics, qualitative reasoning, and control of dynamical systems. I have been working on scalable algorithms and generic software tools for analyzing spatio-temporally distributed data, numerical and symbolic computation, automated phase-space analysis and control synthesis, and applications of these techniques to the construction and programming of smart matter systems.

I lead the CoSense (Collaborative Sensemaking in sensor networks) Project and the Smart Matter Diagnostics Project.

I am co-chairing IPSN'03: the 2nd International Workshop on Information Processing in Sensor Networks, Palo Alto, CA, April 22-23.
